Ballet David Campos is a dance company that combines contemporary and innovative dance styles with the strength and disciplined beauty of classical ballet technique. In its fourth year, and with its array of original choreographic creations (Campos), this artistic group fills up the gap that continues to persist in the Spanish dance panorama, where still very few stable dance companies exist.

The company is directed and was founded by David Campos and Irene Sabas, former soloists of the Royal Ballet of Flanders (Belgium). Both with their outstanding and highly respectable individual careers in the dance field, plus their ample experience in diverse styles aside from classical repertory have evolved into what provides the company its distinction from all the rest. The company´s performances radiate with sensitive fullness, lots of creativity, vigor and technique, reflecting evolution and openness to the fusion of influences from all other art forms and stimuli. “…The Ballet David Campos is a company of  notably high level…that has opened doors which apparently till today have been closed, deserves …respect.” ( La Vanguardia, J. Ballet David Campos has done representations in various important theatres all over Spain and internationally, to generous public and critical acclaim. After 50 years of the absence of dance performances in Palau de la Musica in Barcelona, the group was recently chosen amongst others to reintroduce this art genre in its annual program. The company too has participated in different important dance festivals, nationally, as in Madrid, for example, as invited guest company in its Festival Endanza, and in renowned international dance events in Scotland, Italy, and France.

With its high standards of quality performances, the company has turned into one of the most reliable and recognized dance reference points of the country today. Its interesting and unique repertoire ( most of which are the original choreographies by Campos) is setting the company towards its rightful place amongst other renowned companies in Europe. As a result, this year, the city of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona) have decided to grant  the Ballet David Campos a home base, the Teatro de Josep Maria de Sagarra ( Sta. Coloma de Gramenet). As resident dance company of the city, the Ballet David Campos can continue in its endeavour to propagate the dance art to the Spanish audience, with new representations throughout the year, as well as, initiate various projects to foment the interest of a greater theatre public, especially for the young and old, to which they have been catering to since the company´s foundation. Upon adopting the Ballet David Campos, the city of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, unique from its other neighbouring cities, have opted for a cultural dance project, an official decision which deserves great applause in these times, demonstrating its government´s awareness and distinct respect for the dance as a legitimate art form and dignified profession which will undoubtedly greatly enrich its city and its society, as well as all the many others who wish to and who will soon be able to enjoy a performance of the Ballet David Campos.
